Coming from an Information Technology background, Mathew took a severe change into production midway through his VCE studies. By getting involved in many school productions he focused on such areas as Stage Crewing, Lighting and Sound. Since then, he has been involved in many Melbourne events including MELBOURNE CUP CARNIVAL, MOOMBA WATERFEST, SUSTAINABLE LIVING FESTIVAL, RVIB CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT and many others.

He is currently works for Melbourne Stadiums Limited at Telstra Dome in customer service and ticketing and Whitehorse City Council providing production assistance in lighting and sound, including knowledge manual fly systems.

He has graduated in a Diploma of Stage Management and completed a course in Meetings and Events to develop his existing event skills.

With an extensive event experience, he acted as the Production Coordinator at the SUSTAINABLE LIVING FESTIVAL at Federation Square in 2003 and 2004, and has worked at Event Logistics and Operations of the VISION AUSTALIA CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT where he and three other YMP Staff formed the Event SWAT Unit, troubleshooting and supplying event logisitcs to the event. He also has acted as event operations for the CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT in Support of Canteen Kids with Cancer, which is staged in Mordialloc from 2001 - 2005.

Mathew has stage managed and operated for RED STITCH ACTORS THEATRE, for one of their seasons in 2004, which he joined the production four days before the show started the season and picked up the overall running of the performance within two run throughs.

Mathew commenced work with ST. BEDE'S COLLEGE in Mentone working in their AUDIO VISUAL AND EVENT SERVICES department in early 2005, where he assists with designing, and running events around the college, including drawing venue plans, lighting designs, and co-ordianting students to be involved in the school based events. He also assists with the students in editing their media assignments, in the school's purpose built media department.

In 2006, Mathew was appointed part of the Volunteer Crew for the MELBOURNE 2006 COMMONWEALTH GAMES, in which he worked work with the Stage Management Department for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He assisted with the ceremonies as an Assistant Stage Manager, cueing preformers, assisting in Props, and other technicial areas.

Mathew has been also involved in events such as CITY OF MELBOURNE NEW YEARS EVE Celebrations in Event Operations, MOOMBA WATERFEST in Stage Mangement, and MELBOURNE CUP CARNIVAL as a Production Runner for many years.

In 2007, Mathew is working on the LYG07 event in Melbourne as the Technical Designer, Venue Manager and Web Designer. With the event being held in a school hall, Mathew has designed the venue that is to be in operation over a five days in July, with over 100 guests in attendance.
